Motorola Wireless Keyboard for Motorola ATRIX and XOOM

FULL SIZE WIRELESS KEYBOARD. Say goodbye to wires and enjoy your freedom with Bluetooth.

Motorola Wireless Keyboard for Motorola ATRIX and XOOM (Motorola Retail Packaging) - review: I got this keyboard the day after I got my Xoom. I wasn't sure how useful it would be, but I do a lot of email so I decided to give it a try. Right after I got the bluetooth configured, I realized it was certainly worth the money. The keyboard has special Android specific keys such as all of the "hard keys" (back, home, menu, and search) that are on an Android phone as well as others that make it so you can use the keyboard to do a lot of your navigating, not just typing. The keyboard is well made and the keys are sturdy. If you are going to use your Xoom for work, this is an accessory you will want.

Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate Charger

Motorola Factory original 12-14 Volt DC Battery Car Charger/ Cigarette Lighter Adapter, with illuminated Motorola logo for Micro USB and Motorola Micro USB Cell Phone devices.

Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate Charger - review : There are so many sketchy sellers selling phone chargers out there, that it can be a bit scary. The problem is that if the charger is poorly made, the output of the charger can be out of spec and can, in some cases, fry the phone you connect to it.

For that reason, when it comes to phone chargers, you should stick to name brands. (They are all made in China, but the name brand ones are usually subject to stricter QA).

When I found this charger on Amazon, SOLD BY AMAZON, I jumped on it. It's a MICRO USB car charger, made for Motorola and sold under the Motorola name, in retail packaging. The rated output is 4.75-5.25V and 950mA.

This charger should work fine with most any phone that uses the MICRO USB connector. The key number to pay attention to is the second one, the rated amperage. This is the MAXIMUM amount of current that the phone can request from the charger. A typical USB port on a PC provides as little as 100mA, and few provide more than 500mA. So this charger should charge your phone faster than when it's connected to a PC. A few phones out now can use up to 1000mA. But that just means they CAN use that amount. If 950mA is provided, they'll still charge, just a bit more slowly.

Note that the amperage (second number) merely tells you how much the charger CAN supply, if requested. The phone itself is responsible for asking for the current. That is to say, if this charger can provide 950mA, but your phone can only use 300mA--no problem. Your phone asks for 300mA and the charger provides all of what is requested. If, on the other hand, your phone can use 1000mA, this charger will provide all it can, which is 950mA--a wee bit less than the max asked for. That's also not a problem; it just means your phone will charge a little bit (not much in this case) more slowly. The rated voltage for this charger is presented in a range of 4.75-5.25V. The "ideal" voltage for a USB charger of any type if 5V. And most chargers for home use are rated right at 5V. But car chargers work in a noisier environment and thus you have the range. This is where a cheapo charger can really do damage, as some of them are poorly regulated and can provide voltages that are WAY out of spec. Again, when you can get a name brand charger from a seller you can trust (Amazon) for such a reasonable price, it's very foolish to consider the cheapo no-names.

This is an excellent quality name brand travel micro USB charger at a price that beats the no-name junk from third party sellers. What's not to like?

BE SURE TO ORDER IT FROM AMAZON AND NOT ONE OF THE THIRD PARTY SELLERS, as some of those have been known to make mistakes with respect to what they ship relative to the listing. I can confirm that Amazon is shipping the P513 /89143N charger, as pictured.

Verizon Wireless - HTC ThunderBolt 4G Android Smartphone

HTC ThunderBolt 4G Android Smartphone review: I just got this phone as an upgrade from the original Droid. I have only used it for about a day so far, but I can honestly say it was well worth the upgrade. 4G is wicked fast. I got 15Mbps down and 25Mbps on my phone. That's insane! Everything else about the phone feels fast too. HTC Sense comes with some bloatware and small annoyances, but it's amazingly smooth and does have some improvements over stock OS. The screen, while not Super AMOLED, looks really good. It's the same resolution as many other phones but it looks beautiful and the contrast is better than I expected.

Battery life isn't as bad as I thought it would be. It should last a full day, but I think i'll get the extended battery anyway. The camera isn't great, but it's not bad. The addition of a front facing camera is nice and the camcorder function takes higher quality video than I expected. The only gripe I have is that the screen squeaks occasionally when pressed, but it's not too annoying. I wish it had support for more video codecs like mkv, but few phones have that right now. Overall, it's easily the best phone on Verizon right now. It's not dual core, but it acts like it, so while the benchmarks may not show it to be as fast as the Atrix or Bionic, it feels and acts just as fast in real-life. There's nothing to be dissapointed about with this phone.

Nokia E5-00 Unlocked GSM Phone with Easy E-mail Setup, IM, QWERTY, 5 MP Camera, Ovi Store with Apps, and Free Ovi Maps Navigation (Black) (Wireless Phone Accessory) - Most Helpful Customer Reviews: I've been a loyal Nokia user since the 8860. They have just always been fun, straight forward and easy to use phones. The only thing Nokia lacks here in the USA is the customization options that the rest of the world enjoys on a daily basis. Most phones are locked down by carriers and rebranded with their own applications here in the US. This unlocked GSM capable Nokia makes that a thing of the past. Don't want to pay AT&T for an internet fee and a GPS navigation fee? Done. Want to delete whatever programs you wish from the phone? Done. Want to download apps that directly compete and are better than the ones AT&T or T-Mobile force you to use? Done.

Calls come through loud and clear on AT&T's network. I have full 3G coverage and have yet to drop a call. When using the internet away from a WiFi network, you get access to AT&T's speedy 3.5G network. 3.5G comes in very handy when using the free GPS turn by turn navigation. Yes, outside the US Nokia has been doing this for ages. It's the greedy US carriers that have blocked it all these years. Not anymore with an unlocked phone from Nokia, although you still need a data plan from your carrier. Battery life is great too, but that's expected from Nokia.

Messaging works great with easy access to received and sent texts, and the keyboard makes for speedy typing. Plus several of the keys have very handy shortcuts to commonly used features such as bluetooth, emoticons (smileys) , and a flashlight.

WiFi is a breeze to use. You can view networks in range and even set priority levels for which ones you prefer to use. The screen is a little small to be your go to surfing device, but it's more than competent for checking email, posting on facebook, and looking up sports scores.

The device also comes with a mobile version of Microsoft Office document reader. This is extremely handy for the mobile professional.

One other great thing about this unlocked phone is that you can listen to FM or internet radio. I have missed this feature since AT&T began locking their phones down around the time of the Cingular branded Nokia 6230 (my still going strong backup phone). Pair this with a 3.5mm headphone jack and the more than capable music player, and you have yourself a nice little music phone.

The only complaint I have with this phone is the cheaper TFT screen Nokia used to keep the cost down. This does cause the screen to become washed out in direct sunlight, but only from one side. It's weird, if you tilt the phone to the left, the screen stays bright, but when you tilt the phone to the right, the screen becomes washed out. With that said, I live in Denver where we get over 300 days of sun every year. I have yet to be in a situation where I could not read the screen. If its too dark you can simply change your theme to a brighter, more colorful one to help with visibility.

Pros:
Rock solid construction
3G and 3.5G coverage
WiFi
FREE GPS TURN BY TURN NAVIGATION FOR LIFE
QWERTY keyboard with shortcuts
Flashlight
Install and delete apps
Fully customizable themes
Battery Life

Cons:
Micro-SD card is under the battery
S-60 Symbian has a higher learning curve
Screen not up to par with current smart phones

LG Optimus V Prepaid Android Phone for Virgin Mobile

Upgrade to Android OS v2.2 Froyo on this 3G & Wi-Fi capable smartphone. Navigate on a 3.2 inches touchscreen with a virtual QWERTY keyboard and Swype text entry. Check in with GmailTM, Twitter, and YouTube. Download apps from Android MarketTM. And get your personal and corporate email on the go.

LG Optimus V Prepaid Android Phone for Virgin Mobile (Wireless Phone Accessory)Most Helpful Customer Reviews: I have never had a cell phone plan, and I don't plan on having one any time soon. When I first started using cell phones, the curse of prepaid services were the phones. Companies like Net10 had fantastic deals, but the phones were always cheap and disposable, which of course is the great part about prepaid service. I'm not stuck with a phone for two years and if I need one, I'm not worrying about the price.

Another great part about prepaid service is that I will never have to speak with a representative. Virgin Mobile is an easy set up and upon start up, the phone was quick to activate and start my service. This two reasons are high on my list for why prepaid trumps contract phone plans.

When this phone was announced, I was a bit skeptical. I was worried that it would be a watered down version of the LG Optimus S, but I am happy to report that it is essentially the same device. The following will mention the look, feel, and speed of the device.

The touch screen: Nimble! Going from screen to screen is fluid, transitions are visible. For every single touch and swipe, the device is right there with you. There is no lag to be found. However, there are times when I'm playing Angry Birds, and there is considerable lag. It usually happens for the first thirty seconds of the game.

Screen resolution: High quality but with the plastic front, it cheapens the device. However, I am not complaining. Zooming in and out on a webpage, you might notice that it's a little pixelated when you get close to the text.

3G capabilities: Testing this against my friend's iPhone, it's very fast. I was incredibly surprised by the responsiveness and how quick I could go from webpage to webpage. But, I will say that there are times there is absolutely no service. After looking through forums, one easy way to fix this is by activating the phone again. I did this once, and it helped tremendously.

App store: Although it's not as big as Apple's app store, it has everything one would need. The great thing about Android is that if there's something you don't like, you can change it. Widgets are absolutely one of the best features about Android's app store. You can even change the web browser if you don't like it!

This phone does not support Flash, so don't be disappointed.

Navigation: A dream. It works better than my Garmin, the voice is loud and concise. I will say that after plugging it into my auxillary connector that it does sound a little muffled. But I'm not disappointed at all. The maps are amazing. There was one time the directions were a little funky and another that it was taking a while to acquire satellite.

Camera quality: I have to say, the quality of the camera is amazing. With auto focus, it's great. And with the camera apps, you can create some great effects.

Overall, this phone is a great value. I talk a lot, so I use the unlimited everything plan for $60.00. It's not a bad deal considering I would be paying well over $100.00 anywhere else.

There are a lot of other prepaid services you might want to consider if you want to go prepaid. If you aren't someone who talks a lot and just need a phone, Net10 is the perfect service. But if you do talk a lot and browse the internet, then services like Boost Mobile, AT&T GoPhone, Straight Talk, and Virgin Mobile are great alternatives to the high cost of contracts.

The problem with prepaid still? The phones need a lot of work, but this is the first I've seen to make a huge step toward a great future with prepaid service.

Update:
I love this phone. It has efficiently replaced my iPod and GPS Navigator. Put in a 16gb micro sd card, and you're set. Apps like Double Twist make music listening a great experience (and for $4.99, you can sync your music wirelessly, listen to radio stations, AND podcasts)

If your car as an auxillary connector or even a tape adapter, connect your phone, and you can listen to Navigation WHILE listening to music. I know it's a weird thing to obsess about, but I always thought it was one or the other. Directions are precise, so I'm not constantly looking at my phone wondering where I am.

Streaming on Pandora and NPR is great. However, after a few hours, it completely stops and you have to get back into the app. It's not terrible, but I like to listen while I'm at work.

The Android App Market has everything you're looking for as long as you know how to search. I would recommend joining forums, because that's how I found out about different apps. One I love in particular is the WiFi Hotspot widget. With a simple click, you can connect your laptop and computer to the phone's 3g network. Other apps like Car Home allow you to travel and easily find navigation, music, and manage what apps you need on the go.

Depending on where I am, Youtube can lag a little. I expected this. But for the price and the fact that I have completely replaced a few gadgets I own, this is totally worth it.

Apple Ipad2 Wi-fi 3g 32gb Black- Verizon

iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, 32GB. A Thinner, Lighter, More Powerful iPad! Computer Handheld 32GB Wi-Fi + Verizon 3G, Black.
Reviews: So after picking it up Friday and playing around with it most of the weekend, what's the final word? Seemless. If you had the first one and moved to the 2nd one, it's worth the move. I made a back up of the original and after going through iTunes everything just moved right over. Made a few tweeks here and there but otherwise it was painless.

As far as the size goes, it's definently lighter than the first one and it's really lighter than the XOOM, which I had a chance to play around with on Saturday. Also due to the size, it feels like it swims around in the original's case so you definently will want a new one. With the new case, Apple really wants you to show off the sleekness of the device which is cool, but you want to take advantage of having AppleCare in case you accidentally drop it and it breaks. When things get smaller and slimmer, it always tends to feel more fragile. My complaint about the exposure is the back of the iPad which I can see being scuffed in a few weeks so I may get something to protect the back of it. Otherwise, this truly looks like a slate.

It does feel speedier when loading up apps and as far as gaming goes, some like Infinity Blade and Shadow Guardian really gets a boost from the extra speed. They look much better and the loss of framerate is not as noticable as the iPad 1's.

There is however still a bit of barely noticable stutter in some movies shown via Netflix when streaming which makes me hope that the next gen iPad has the Retina Display or something better for true on the go HD viewing.

The cameras, while not the best ( I still don't see someone trying to do serious photography with this so this is not a big deal for me) still does very great with Face Time support. I demoed it a few times with one of my friends who also had the ipad 2 (as well as the iPhone 4) and people who has never seen Face Time in action were astounded. This was the video phone that we only imagined back in the 60s and 70s.

There is still no SD Slot, no Thunderbolt support however the battery still holds a charge ( I just charged mine for the first time last night) and the screen is more bright and crisp than that of the XOOM.

Apple has done a good job at taking the next step with the iPad and any competitor that had something coming out this year really need to take notes because if they don't move swiftly enough, Apple will dominate the tablet space in a similar fashion as they did the mp3 space with the iPod.

If you had the first one ther are a few small surprises that you are in for, if this is your first one, you will be amazed about what you have missed out on.

Sony Ericsson expects disruptions in supply, HTC reports all OK

GSMArena.com - Sony Ericsson released a statement saying that all their employees in the two Tokyo offices are OK, but they expect problems with the supply chains. HTC issued a statement as well saying their operations were unaffected.

Sony Ericsson is not the first company to announce disrupted operations due to the earthquake and the tsunami, the region that was hit is where a large part of the world's electronics are made.

Sony Ericsson is evaluating the situation and looking for secondary suppliers of parts and places to transfer some of the component manufacturing. The full amount of the damage is not clear yet but the company is monitoring the situation constantly and will keep operators and customers up to date.

HTC issued a statement too, saying that their operations will not be affected by the Japan earthquake. They have a framework in place that taps a secondary supply chain in case of a natural disaster.

HTC will keep an eye on the developments in Japan and cooperate with their global supply chain and distribution partners to keep operations running smoothly.

UK getting the XPERIA Play on 31 March, Optimus 3D - in late May

Sony Ericsson is prepping its biggest UK marketing campaign for XPERIA Play launch at 31 March. Meanwhile LG is working hard to unleash the Optimus 3D in “late May”, again in the UK.

It seems the Sony Ericsson’s "late March release" promise about the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play actually meant the end of March. The XPERIA Play will be released on 31 March in the UK going with the biggest marketing campaign Sony Ericsson has done on the Island so far.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play will be available on all major UK carriers, in various game stores and online retailers. It will come with six pre-installed games, but if we are to believe Sony Ericsson, there will be at least 50 more titles waiting for you in its dedicated game store. There is still no official word on the retail price, but Amazon.de has it on pre-order for 540 euro.

PlayStation Suite coming to Tegra 2 devices, PS1 and PS2 titles too

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play will not be the only Android phone out there that runs PlayStation games. NVIDIA announced that Tegra 2 powered smartphones and tablets will be getting the PlayStation Suite, the software platform that allows PlayStation games to run on droids. There's no info on which Tegra 2 powered devices would be PlayStation certified (certification is used Sony to ensure quality gaming experience) but the recent high-end droids (both phones and tablets) that use NVIDIA's hardware all have enough processing power to run the games, so there shouldn't be any problems on the hardware side.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo preview

Sony Ericsson is keen to start 2011 in style with strong additions to the XPERIA lineup to please every taste. The Arc is the one true flagship, the Pro is the business messenger and the Play is the gaming smartphone. What’s in there for the Neo then?

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo has the appearance of a Vivaz and an Android heart. Is this what the original Vivaz should have been? A conclusion would be premature at this point but consider the advantages. Android instead of the rough-around-the-edges Symbian, bigger and better display, multi-touch support and greater processing power. We guess we shouldn’t be looking at the past though. The XPERIA Neo is stopping in for a quick preview and we want to make the best of the short time we have with it before it’s released.

Sony Ericsson Windows Phone 7 handset is pictured

PhoneArena:"Now that Sony Ericsson has at last captured the attention of a major U.S. carrier or two with the Xperia PLAY, it is time for the joint venture to turn its attention toward broadening its product line. A recently leaked photo appears to show a Sony Ericsson branded Windows Phone 7 device with a slide out landscape QWERTY keyboard.

We can't rule out a little photoshop magic here because usually when a landscape QWERTY is deployed, the image on the screen changes orientation to match the QWERTY. But let's go out on a limb for a moment and say that the picture is real. Anyone in the market for a Sony Ericsson Windows Phone 7 handset?"

Havok game engine demo on Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY

GSMArena.com : As we reported yesterday, the guys behind the Havok game engine teamed up with Sony Ericsson to provide better gaming experience for Android users. As a result, today an interesting video demonstrating the power and capabilities of the Havok engine was released.

In the video, Marcus Hansson, a Sony Ericsson representative, demoes a couple of features available to developers using the Havok engine.

First of them is the ability to create destructible environments, which should make games feel more natural. Speaking of natural, the Havok engine also supports rag-doll physics. Lastly demonstrated is the way a game character can be controlled using the XPERIA Play.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play partners with Havok, MLG

Sony Ericsson has announced two key partnerships to push the XPERIA Play to the top of mobile gaming. Havok has ported all their software to Gingerbread and optimized it for the XPERIA Play, which is also the official Major League Gaming handset.

If Havok sounds familiar you may be thinking of their physics engine - but they have other software too, which runs on all major consoles and computer platforms in many big-name games.
