HTC Flyer Review: More Portable Than iPad
HTC Flyer 3G / WiFi HotSpot / GPS / 5MP / 7 Inch Tablet Device review: More Portable Than iPad, By Robert P. Seaton (Elmhurst, IL)
"_SPECS_
* 7" Screen (1024x600 resolution)
* 1.5GHz Processor
* 1GB RAM
* 32GB Internal Storage
* 5 Megapixel Camera
* 1.3 Megapixel Front-facing Camera
* Available with 3G
* GPS/Bluetooth/WiFi b/g/n
As far as hardware goes, the Flyer is definitely a bit on the heavy side when compared to my cousin's iPad. He complained about it, but it's not like you really notice how heavy it is when you use the device. Plus, the Flyer's screen is a lot smaller so I find it less awkward to hold with one hand. The heftiness actually makes the device feel more sturdy than the iPad. It's not that elegant, but more of a rugged device. Manly, if you will. Since it's only ~7", I can actually fit it in most of my pockets, something that you can't do with an iPad, so I think on that front it is more of a portable device. The Flyer also comes with a really nice case.
Like I said, the screen is smaller than that of the iPad, but larger than that of a phone. I think it strikes a good balance between being too large and too small. Web browsing on it is fantastic and it has flash support, unlike one of its competitors. ;) Unlike the cramped keyboard on my phone, typing on the Flyer is nice and easy with plenty of room. The tablet's autocorrect also seems to be smarter than on my Atrix, but I could be making that up. The Flyer is almost small enough that you can use it like you would a smartphone, but not quite. It's just a little too bulky.
The screen is really nice at 1024x600 resolution and great for watching movies. It's a lot brighter than my MacBook's screen and it's even pretty usable (gasp!) outside! The battery life is definitely a champ. One day my whole family was using it (HEAVY usage) and it easily lasted the whole day. Most days I can go about two or three days of regular use before I need to recharge it. You can even schedule it to sleep at set hours of the day to conserve even more battery life, so I have it set up to turn off the WiFi and stuff while I'm sleeping.
Altogether, I'm pretty happy with my Flyer, but there are a couple downside. The speakers, for example, are not very good, so you should definitely invest in a good pair of speakers. While I think the small(er) screen is an advantage, it might be a deal breaker for some folks. Also, the Android app store is pretty lacking when it comes to apps for tablets, and some apps don't use the entire screen, which is kind of annoying. The camera is also pretty bad, but the UI is definitely better than the other devices that I compared it to at Best Buy. The magic pen thing is also kind of cool, but I don't really use it that much."

Blackberry Playbook Review: What is everyone's problem?
Blackberry Playbook Review: What is everyone's problem? By D. Bannister (Calgary, Alberta Canada):
"I own the iPad 1. I like it. I don't love it. The apps are great. But it is large and cumbersome. It doesn't really multi-task. And I hate the way it handles email. I use a Blackberry Torch phone. I love the way it handles email. And the apps are very good. Fewer. But very good.
So it was with some trepidation and excitement I bought the Blackberry Playbook. The trepidation was because of the advanced reviews which universally panned it. I looked at it, held it, and bought it. And I will tell you it is one piece of stunning equipment.

Samsung Galaxy S 4G Android Phone review: An all-around awesome phone By Rollin D Crittendon:
I have had this phone going on a week now. The speed, battery life & screen have been fantastic.
The addition of the Swype keyboard was a savvy move on Samsung's part as well. Tracing and voice-dictation work very well.
The television package is a nice extra as well. Catch up on a basketball game while running an errand.
This phone is probably up there with the iPhone from what I gather. At this point I think consumers will have a bounty of riches as companies like Samsung and Apple keep redefining what a smartphone means.

JayBird Sportsband Bluetooth Headphones review
JayBird Sportsband Bluetooth Headphones (Midnight Black) review - JayBird SB2MB a great product, By Paul Rozek: I had been waiting to buy a bluetooth headphone until Apple rectified their sad lack of full functionality support of Next/Previous track selection. That functionality was added in the iOS 4.1 update. The JayBird is exactly as advertised. It fits snuggly and has pretty good sound. Certainly an improvement on the OEM earphones that come with your iPhone/iPod. Connecting to my iPhone was simple and easy. It even allows you to connect to two items, like an mp3 player and a desktop computer.
It's looks are attractive and definitely garner positive comments from friends and strangers.
The buttons are easy to use once you remember which one s are which.
There are even a few color options from Amazon with more colorful options available from the JayBird site.
I would highly recommend these headphones for anyone looking for full functioning, clear quality sound bluetooth headphones.

G-Slate 4G Android Tablet Review
LG G-Slate 4G Android Tablet (T-Mobile) Review: Making the most of your time is essential, so let the G-Slate by LG be your constant companion. It lets you seamlessly interact with your life at home and on the go. The large 8.9" HD screen with multi-touch capability not only handles multiple open apps but also allows you to videoconference, watch HD movies, play games, and more. Plus, the innovative 3D video camera captures real-life moments. And you'll always be connected on the grid at blazing-fast speeds up to 4G.
One Great Tablet...with a Couple of Issues, By Ross Voorhees (Wichita, KS) : LG has put together quite a nice little 8.9 inch tablet to compete with the slew of 10.1 inch tablets now coming out in droves. Like its brethren, it's running Honeycomb, but thankfully without any type of branded layer... this is pure vanilla Android here, thank you very much. But can the G-Slate stand on its merits and rise to be considered the cream of the crop? Let's dive in...
The G-Slate is pretty much the same as any other Honeycomb tablet we've seen to date, except with a couple of key differences, some to its detriment. It has the same Tegra 2 chipset,, 32 GB of RAM, 1 GB of memory, a micro USB port, a mini HDMI port, and a screen resolution of 1280x768 (32 pixels short of the "standard" resolution). It stays in line with a clam shell form factor with a big slice of polished aluminum on the back emblazened with the Google logo, and a silver trim accent around the front bezel. It looks and feels well constructed and of high quality, save for the plastic back. It has a remarkable, crisp, clean, IPS screen with excellent color and contrast which is a definite plus, and a 2 MP video chat camera on the front.
Where the G-Slate differentiates itself is in the dual 5 MP cameras on the back which have the ability to shoot 1080p video or 3D 720p video, either in red/blue anaglyph mode (they even throw in a pair of colored glasses for this) or a 3D HDTV mode suitable for playback on the big screen with LCD shutter glasses. While this is great in concept, the execution leaves a little to be desired. The problem is not the 3D...it looks sharp and pretty amazing as long as you have adequate lighting... it's the fact that your limited to 32GB of storage space (30 minutes worth of video), unless you transfer 3D files back and forth to your PC. You aren't going to be able to film much of anything, in other words, because the majority of life's precious moments tend to run well over half an hour. The end result is that the 3D becomes pretty much a fun feature to play with that's not particularly useful. That 30 minute time limit also applies to 1080p video, so that pretty much nixes that feature too. Like the Apple iPad 2, there's also a severe quality penalty in low light conditions resulting in dirty artifacts (especially bad at high resolution), and even a nasty little "flicker" bug that pops up (turning off auto-white balance seems to cure that, however). It would be great if you could expand the memory and makes this baby more useful in the video department, but alas, no memory expansion slot... another bad mark on an otherwise nice tablet.
Another interesting feature is the THREE speakers on this unit (two on the right, one on the left), which seem to boost the sound quality up to a nice level (but obviously a little short on bass). In fact, the sound is quite excellent, with good separation and no crackling at full volume. While not an audiophile's dream, it makes music listenable and movies/videos pop. Coupled with the great screen, the G-Slate excels in the multimedia category.
Overall interface performance is fast and responsive, although there's a noticeable delay when switching between portrait and landscape modes... we're talking a good 2 seconds... which isn't a killer but certainly curious when everything else is instantaneous. Web browsing is fast, with flash-loaded sites loading without much wait time and virtually everything from videos to games working fine, save for the occasional stutter due to the beta version of Flash. Battery life is excellent, with varied usage bringing 8-10 hours between charges.
The other major drawback is the price for off-contract (prepaid): a whopping $750. I really like this tablet alot, but not $750 worth, especially when the Asus Transformer is just around the corner at $399. Of course, this is great for those who don't mind the two year commitment and excellent 4G speeds for mobile ventures, where the price drops down to $429.
The bottom line is that this is a very nice unit with a couple of disappointing shortcomings. You really want to love this, and some undoubtedly will (it's definitely worth $429 bucks). I can see the draw of it, enough so that if only it had memory expansion, I'd probably make this my primary tablet, even at full retail price.
Pros:
GREAT screen
Nice comfy size and weight
3D/1080p video
Excellent response
Great sound
Cons:
In low light, the camera blows
Limited video recording time
No memory expansion
High priced without a 2 year ball and chain

Gevey Professional SIM Producer For Unlocking iPhone 4
Gevey Turbo SIM as they call it is actually not a sim. It is a sim interposer. An interposer is an electrical interface that directs the connection from one socket to another. The purpose of a sim interposer in this case is tore-route a connectionto a different connection which can then unlock the iphone 4. Gevey SIM Interposer is an integrated circuit which contains the unlock exploit using emergency number dialing [112].
A SIM card hack known as Gevey has been released to unlock the iPhone 4 running the latest iOS 4.3 software and baseband. The hack involves a wafer thing SIM, that needs to be inserted in the SIM card tray along with the actual SIM card that you wish to use in your iPhone 4. You then have to follow a short procedure of dialling an emergency number, hanging up, then toggling flight mode on and off a few times. Then service with your chosen provider magically appears.
Here's what to do to unlock:
(After all the steps above, if there is still no signal, power off your iPhone, switch it back on and repeat all the steps from the beginning)
1. Switch off your iPhone 4.2. Place the Gevey SIM into the holder and put your micro-SIM on the top.
3. Insert it in your iPhone 4 and switch on your iPhone 4.
4. The status bar will displays "No Signal". Wait until it appears the signal strength indicator.
5. Dial 112 (an emergency number), as you connect with the call, disconnect it after 2 seconds.
6. Go to Settings and select Airplane Mode on, and switch it off again.
7. iPhone 4 will displays the message "Error SIM-card" and then "No SIM-card inserted".
8. Click OK, and again turn on Airplane Mode and switch it off again.
9. Message "Error SIM-card" reappears, but after a couple of seconds the signal will show up. Your iPhone should now be unlocked.

Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY PlayStation Certified Android Smartphone review: Great Gaming Handset!!, April 10, 2011 By Dean:
I've fiddled around with this phone before and it is great. Its surprisingly strong and durable. The UI is smooth little bugs here and there but nothing patches couldn't fix up. There's plenty SE can do to build on top of this, personally, I'd recommend holding off on this device because I'm more than sure there will be a successor to this device soon with upgraded hardware. Because that's all it really needs is a faster CPU, more internal storage, a stronger camera (front and back), and some more RAM wont hurt at all. Otherwise this is a great first go at our (the gamers) dream of a gaming smartphone that can compete with other smart phones to make it worth a 2 year contract. But, that's all I'd buy this phone with is for a contract or retail price that is a lot lower than this. I'm sorry but NO phone on the market is worth 750 bucks. Not even more than 550. Remember, this is a phone, not a laptop. But if you've got 750 bucks to blow off then sure I would get this phone. But i don't, so I'll wait for the successor. :-) thanks SE for at least making the PSP phone a reality!

MOTOROLA Protective Gel Case for XOOM
Protect your MOTOROLA XOOM in style with a custom fit gel case.
MOTOROLA Protective Gel Case for MOTOROLA XOOM Reviews, By JZ:I like everything about the case except for one thing... The rubber on the bottom near all the ports (dock connecdtions, hdmi out, etc..) is very thin, and it doesn't really fully fit around the bottom. It stays on, but it's very easy to take off on the bottom. Also, I dont really like how it adds so much bulkiness. However i really like how it makes a little raised edge on the screen, so you can turn it upside down when you're trying to listen to music because the speakers are on the back. I also like how it is rubbery, and it so it helps with getting a good grip on the Xoom. I haven't tried docking it yet, so I hope that it sill works even though the case is on it.

Google Nexus S, Excellent phone
Samsung Google Nexus S is the first phone to run Gingerbread, the fastest version of Android yet. Gingerbread builds on some of the most popular Android features like multi-tasking and Wi-Fi hotspot and adds a refreshed user interface, an improved keyboard, near field communication (NFC) support, and more. A 1 GHz Hummingbird processor paired with 16GB of internal memory makes Nexus S one of the fastest phones on the market. Nexus S has a dedicated Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). Playing mobile games, browsing the web, and watching videos are fast, fluid, and smooth. It's like having a pocket-sized multimedia and game console.
Google Nexus S, Excellent phone: The Samsung Google Nexus S is an interesting phone. It is the sequel to Google and HTC's Nexus One (incorrectly regarded as a flop) and like the iPhone 4 it sets the bar for the current generation of smartphones.

T-Mobile Samsung P1000 Galaxy Tab
Samsung P1000 Galaxy Tab is Samsung's move onto the tablet warfield and luckily we are right here in the battle fray to give you first-hand scoop from the announcement event. Some might argue that it's rather a step down from laptops but the Samsung Galaxy Tab smartphone DNA is obvious from the moment you touch it. The 7-inch Android tablet has full phone functionality and the only thing that separates it from being called an insanely oversized cell phone is the fact that you cannot make phone calls by holding it next to your ear. The rest of the specs sheet looks like it belongs to a cell phone if you don't mind the oversized screen.
Gevey Turbo Sim Unlock Iphone 4
Iphone 4 Gevey Unlock Turbo Sim: "There's a new iPhone 4 unlocking method, which achieves a full unlock using only a Turbo SIM card. Gevey Turbo SIM is claiming to unlock your iPhone 4 on baseband like 02.10.04 and 03.10.01, for which the whole world is waiting anxiously. It is actually a thin card that squeezes in alongside your usual SIM card to run the exploit. It spoofs your AT&T IMSI number and authentication key (Ki) supplied by the SIM card to the network for misguiding the iPhone, then your card IMSI is used for network connection. It can then be used on any mobile network (like T-Mobile) with which they are technically compatible."
Iphone 4 Gevey Unlock Turbo Sim - Technical :
- Notwithstanding all the problems, SIM interposer does not cause any battery drain since it is only active transiently, nor would it cause signal loss because it does not change cellular transmission other than the initial validation step.
- Long lasting and durable solution
- Safe, secure and cheap key
- Instant unlocking - Plug & Play

Motorola Wireless Keyboard for Motorola ATRIX and XOOM
FULL SIZE WIRELESS KEYBOARD. Say goodbye to wires and enjoy your freedom with Bluetooth.
Motorola Wireless Keyboard for Motorola ATRIX and XOOM (Motorola Retail Packaging) - review: I got this keyboard the day after I got my Xoom. I wasn't sure how useful it would be, but I do a lot of email so I decided to give it a try. Right after I got the bluetooth configured, I realized it was certainly worth the money. The keyboard has special Android specific keys such as all of the "hard keys" (back, home, menu, and search) that are on an Android phone as well as others that make it so you can use the keyboard to do a lot of your navigating, not just typing. The keyboard is well made and the keys are sturdy. If you are going to use your Xoom for work, this is an accessory you will want.

Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate Charger
Motorola Factory original 12-14 Volt DC Battery Car Charger/ Cigarette Lighter Adapter, with illuminated Motorola logo for Micro USB and Motorola Micro USB Cell Phone devices.
Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate Charger - review : There are so many sketchy sellers selling phone chargers out there, that it can be a bit scary. The problem is that if the charger is poorly made, the output of the charger can be out of spec and can, in some cases, fry the phone you connect to it.
For that reason, when it comes to phone chargers, you should stick to name brands. (They are all made in China, but the name brand ones are usually subject to stricter QA).
When I found this charger on Amazon, SOLD BY AMAZON, I jumped on it. It's a MICRO USB car charger, made for Motorola and sold under the Motorola name, in retail packaging. The rated output is 4.75-5.25V and 950mA.
This charger should work fine with most any phone that uses the MICRO USB connector. The key number to pay attention to is the second one, the rated amperage. This is the MAXIMUM amount of current that the phone can request from the charger. A typical USB port on a PC provides as little as 100mA, and few provide more than 500mA. So this charger should charge your phone faster than when it's connected to a PC. A few phones out now can use up to 1000mA. But that just means they CAN use that amount. If 950mA is provided, they'll still charge, just a bit more slowly.
Note that the amperage (second number) merely tells you how much the charger CAN supply, if requested. The phone itself is responsible for asking for the current. That is to say, if this charger can provide 950mA, but your phone can only use 300mA--no problem. Your phone asks for 300mA and the charger provides all of what is requested. If, on the other hand, your phone can use 1000mA, this charger will provide all it can, which is 950mA--a wee bit less than the max asked for. That's also not a problem; it just means your phone will charge a little bit (not much in this case) more slowly. The rated voltage for this charger is presented in a range of 4.75-5.25V. The "ideal" voltage for a USB charger of any type if 5V. And most chargers for home use are rated right at 5V. But car chargers work in a noisier environment and thus you have the range. This is where a cheapo charger can really do damage, as some of them are poorly regulated and can provide voltages that are WAY out of spec. Again, when you can get a name brand charger from a seller you can trust (Amazon) for such a reasonable price, it's very foolish to consider the cheapo no-names.
This is an excellent quality name brand travel micro USB charger at a price that beats the no-name junk from third party sellers. What's not to like?
BE SURE TO ORDER IT FROM AMAZON AND NOT ONE OF THE THIRD PARTY SELLERS, as some of those have been known to make mistakes with respect to what they ship relative to the listing. I can confirm that Amazon is shipping the P513 /89143N charger, as pictured.

Verizon Wireless - HTC ThunderBolt 4G Android Smartphone
HTC ThunderBolt 4G Android Smartphone review: I just got this phone as an upgrade from the original Droid. I have only used it for about a day so far, but I can honestly say it was well worth the upgrade. 4G is wicked fast. I got 15Mbps down and 25Mbps on my phone. That's insane! Everything else about the phone feels fast too. HTC Sense comes with some bloatware and small annoyances, but it's amazingly smooth and does have some improvements over stock OS. The screen, while not Super AMOLED, looks really good. It's the same resolution as many other phones but it looks beautiful and the contrast is better than I expected.
Battery life isn't as bad as I thought it would be. It should last a full day, but I think i'll get the extended battery anyway. The camera isn't great, but it's not bad. The addition of a front facing camera is nice and the camcorder function takes higher quality video than I expected. The only gripe I have is that the screen squeaks occasionally when pressed, but it's not too annoying. I wish it had support for more video codecs like mkv, but few phones have that right now. Overall, it's easily the best phone on Verizon right now. It's not dual core, but it acts like it, so while the benchmarks may not show it to be as fast as the Atrix or Bionic, it feels and acts just as fast in real-life. There's nothing to be dissapointed about with this phone.

Nokia E5-00 Unlocked GSM Phone with Easy E-mail Setup, IM, QWERTY, 5 MP Camera, Ovi Store with Apps, and Free Ovi Maps Navigation (Black) (Wireless Phone Accessory) - Most Helpful Customer Reviews: I've been a loyal Nokia user since the 8860. They have just always been fun, straight forward and easy to use phones. The only thing Nokia lacks here in the USA is the customization options that the rest of the world enjoys on a daily basis. Most phones are locked down by carriers and rebranded with their own applications here in the US. This unlocked GSM capable Nokia makes that a thing of the past. Don't want to pay AT&T for an internet fee and a GPS navigation fee? Done. Want to delete whatever programs you wish from the phone? Done. Want to download apps that directly compete and are better than the ones AT&T or T-Mobile force you to use? Done.
Calls come through loud and clear on AT&T's network. I have full 3G coverage and have yet to drop a call. When using the internet away from a WiFi network, you get access to AT&T's speedy 3.5G network. 3.5G comes in very handy when using the free GPS turn by turn navigation. Yes, outside the US Nokia has been doing this for ages. It's the greedy US carriers that have blocked it all these years. Not anymore with an unlocked phone from Nokia, although you still need a data plan from your carrier. Battery life is great too, but that's expected from Nokia.
Messaging works great with easy access to received and sent texts, and the keyboard makes for speedy typing. Plus several of the keys have very handy shortcuts to commonly used features such as bluetooth, emoticons (smileys) , and a flashlight.
WiFi is a breeze to use. You can view networks in range and even set priority levels for which ones you prefer to use. The screen is a little small to be your go to surfing device, but it's more than competent for checking email, posting on facebook, and looking up sports scores.
The device also comes with a mobile version of Microsoft Office document reader. This is extremely handy for the mobile professional.
One other great thing about this unlocked phone is that you can listen to FM or internet radio. I have missed this feature since AT&T began locking their phones down around the time of the Cingular branded Nokia 6230 (my still going strong backup phone). Pair this with a 3.5mm headphone jack and the more than capable music player, and you have yourself a nice little music phone.
The only complaint I have with this phone is the cheaper TFT screen Nokia used to keep the cost down. This does cause the screen to become washed out in direct sunlight, but only from one side. It's weird, if you tilt the phone to the left, the screen stays bright, but when you tilt the phone to the right, the screen becomes washed out. With that said, I live in Denver where we get over 300 days of sun every year. I have yet to be in a situation where I could not read the screen. If its too dark you can simply change your theme to a brighter, more colorful one to help with visibility.

Micro-SD card is under the battery
S-60 Symbian has a higher learning curve
